Morning visit to Thattkekad bird sanctuary (also called Dr. Salim ali Bird Sanctuary) on cycle with naturalst. Afternoon Excursion to Kodnad Village elephant camp also enjoy Elephant safari.
Salim Ali, one of the best known ornithologist has described this sanctuary as “the richest bird habitat on peninsular India”. The literal meaning of Thattekad is flat forest, the region is an evergreen low-land forest and is located between the branches of Periyar River, the longest river in Kerala. The Thattekad Bird Sanctuary has a rich and varied birdlife. Several species of birds, including tropical birds, sub tropical birds, migratory birds & aquatic birds visits the sanctuarie. The sanctuary is a habitat for different varieties of Cuckoos and a region of the sanctuary popularly called Cuckoo Paradise is home to them.
The Salim Ali Bird Santuary has a rich and varied birdlife. Several Species of Birds both forest birds and water birds visit the santuary. Dr. R Sugathan the famous ornithologist and a student of Dr. Salim Ali, now guiding the bird watchers.
Kodanad is situated in the south bank of river Periyar. It is 42 kms from Cochin. Kodanad Elephant camp is a rescue shelter for elephants. Kodanad attracts tourists,and the film shooting crews from across the globe. Kodanad offers elephant safari to the visitors at the main park. At the park, you find the old 'Kraal' which are wooden compartments that house elephants.

After Breakfast excursion to Munnar -2 hours one way which well known for Tea plantation. Evening return Overnight at Soma Bird Lagoon.
Munnar is a hill town situated in the Western Ghats. The name Munnar is formed from Malayalam/tamil words Munu or three in English and aaru means river. As the name says this town have three rivers which called Muthirapuzha,Nallathanni and Kundaly.Munnar is the largest panchayat in the Idukki district of Kerala. You can visit Munnar throughout the year. But best time to visit is the period from August to May. The weather is extremely cold during winter (November, December, and January).

Morning after Breakfast leave for Soma kerala Palacem en-route visiting Cochin 2 hrs, St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace / Dutch Palace and Jewish Synagogue also admire Chinese fishing net. Later watch Kathkali dance show (common) thereafter drive to Chempu which 1 hour away on arrival, check-in at Soma Kerala Palace.
